We are pleased to announce that Jennifer Guarino of The Asia Foundation is this year's recipient of the Rozo scholarship.

Jennifer Guarino is an environmental educator with a focus on environmental citizenship. For 25 years, she has worked with teachers and students to develop curricula, write educational materials, conduct teacher professional development workshops, and lead students in outdoor investigations. As the Education and Water Quality Advisor with The Asia Foundation, Jen has just completed a 3-year river monitoring program with school and community groups in Mongolia and is now developing a citizen-based river monitoring program in Laos. The program goal in these developing countries is to protect vital natural resources and promote sustainable economic development initiatives. At home, Jen works with Vermont teachers to develop environmental literacy programs for school children. Jen has a master's degree in Environmental Education from the University of Michigan. She lives with her husband, Ed Delhagen, and their two children, Alex and Kira, in Randolph, Vermont. She is working with her children's school on a Farm to School program, which brings fresh local produce into the cafeteria.
