How to Apply

Vermont Leadership Institute Application

The Snelling Center for Government invites members of the public, non-profit, and private sectors to apply for admission to the Vermont Leadership Institute. The application process is highly competitive, with up to twenty-six associates selected on the basis of their professional achievements, demonstrated interest in the community, and potential for leadership. We seek applicants who are. . .

  • committed to Vermont,
  • curious about the issues facing Vermont,
  • committed to learning and growing, and
  • value inquiry and dialogue.

The VLI Class of 2009 will begin its training in September of 2008. Most day sessions take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Each session requires some advance preparation. We ask associates to apply their learning to a personal leadership plan.

The Snelling Center for Government is a non-profit, non-partisan organization. VLI encourages applicants from a variety of perspectives and welcomes ideological diversity.

Please call or write the Snelling Center for Government for an application, or download an application now.

Nominations may be sent to sue@snellingcenter.org

Applications must be postmarked by March 28, 2008 and include a nonrefundable $25 fee. We conduct interviews in April and May, and inform candidates of their status in late May.
