New Legislator Orientation
Prior to each legislative biennium, The Snelling Center, in partnership with the nonpartisan legislative staff at the Vermont Legislative Joint Fiscal Office and The Legislative Council delivers a three day orientation for newly elected state legislators.
Participants learn about their role as legislators, what resources are available and what is expected. It is a unique opportunity to work with legislative staff and leadership and hear from retired members of the legislators and members of the other branches of government. The orientation serves as a key tool in keeping the citizen legislature effective.
Legislative Orientation for the 2007-2008 biennium was held at the State House on November 30 and December 1-2, 2006.
