Energy Policy

The citizens of Vermont have some major decisions to make about our energy future and the social, environmental and economic impacts of our energy use. The cost and availability of energy for heating our homes, fueling our vehicles and powering our lights and the environmental consequences of our energy choices, from climate change to acid rain are critical issues facing the state. In addition, we face major decisions about the sources of our electricity as more than two-thirds of present sources could end in the next decade. The Snelling Center is advancing work to ensure that citizens are engaged in decisions about the state’s overall energy future.
