Dear Glenn,

I’m sorry for the delay in forwarding this report, which I referenced during the 7.22.08 conversation hosted by the Commission on the Future of Economic Development for Vermont at the Eastside Restaurant in Newport.

In the College’s 2006 graduate survey, we found that 66% (109 of 165 respondents) of our graduates remained in Vermont to work or continue their education. The relevance of this number is that approximately 60% of our students are from Vermont. We also found that while approximately 30% of LSC students come from the Northeast Kingdom (NEK), 40% (66 of 165 respondents)* of our graduates remained to work in the NEK.

*Please note that this percentage is not in the attached report. It is a number arrived at by adding up the number of respondents who indicated they are currently working in the NEK. This information is available in pages 26-37 of the report, and the NEK towns have been underlined.

I hope you find this information helpful and that it is still timely to your efforts. Please let me know if I can provide any additional information or if you have follow-up questions.

Thanks,
