Leadership in a Connected Age
Technology is changing the game. Today’s leaders must understand the opportunities, imperatives and impact of the connected age. Vermont Leadership Institute
Judy Warriner Walke, co-founder of the Vermont Leadership Institute, will become the Director of the VLI and will be welcoming our 16th class in September. Judy has been a faculty member for each of the previous 15 classes.

Vermont School Leadership Project
Valerie Gardner, Snelling board member emerita and former principal of Champlain Valley Union High School, is the new director of the Vermont School Leadership Project. The Class of 2011 will begin their work together in July, spending a week at Lake Morey. More.

Transporting the Public
A statewide action planning forum was held in Montpelier on June 3. Over 85 stakeholders shared their ideas for increasing mobility and improving our system for transporting the public. Click here to read about these discussions, top priorities for action and more.

Excellence in Leadership Award
Timothy J. Donovan, Chancellor of the Vermont State Colleges system, is the winner of the first Excellence in Leadership Award in honor of Jan Eastman. Tim is an alumnus of the Vermont Leadership Institute, Class of 1997.

Social Equity Scholarship Fund
Dr. Dan Balon of the Burlington School District gave a compelling presentation on "Cultural Competency and Effective Leadership" at the June 23 luncheon. The Social Equity Scholarship Fund benefits the Vermont Leadership Institute. More.

Electric Transmission Planning
Public engagement to ensure the reliability of Vermont's electric transmission system in conjunction with the Vermont Electric Power Company has been completed. The resulting 2009 Long Range Transmission Plan will soon be available online. More.

Vermont Leadership Network
The Snelling Center received a grant from the Gillette French Fund, a donor advised fund at the Vermont Community Foundation. This grant will be used to help connect and strengthen the incredible network of Snelling Center leadership alumni.

Commencement Ceremony

CFED Report
