Iowa

Numerous Grants available through the State Historic Society of Iowa
•   The Cultural Enrichment program provides funding to major multidisciplinary cultural organizations.
•  The Country Schools Grant provides 5 thousand dollars in funding for preservation and maintenance of country school buildings.
•  The Resource Enhancement and Protection/Historical Resource Development Program (REAP/HRDP)  funded through The Resource Enhancement and Protection Act provides funding to preserve natural and cultural sources.
•    Historic Site Preservation Grant “provides funds to acquire, repair, rehabilitate, and develop historical sites that preserve, interpret or promote Iowa’s cultural heritage.”

New Century Community Program

•  Established in 1999 by the Maine Legislature
•  the program goal is to strengthen local cultural resources to communities, strengthen cultural education in Maine’s schools, and provide preservation grants to restore and protect historic landmarks
•  three downtowns have been named recipients of grants under this program
•  towns include Lewiston, Gardiner and Dexter
•  $100,000 allocation to these communities will support efforts to revamp historic and cultural services and facilities in these towns
